Training for a Michigan Concealed Pistol License

Tri-County Sportsmen's League offers NRA Personal Protection in the Home courses that exceed the training requirements for a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL). This is not a "boot camp" - the course goal is to develop in the students the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding citizen's right to self-defense.

We offer high quality instruction from an experienced staff of NRA Instructors in a non-smoking, supportive, classroom environment.

Learn to recognize the physiological and psychological changes that occur to your body in a life threatening situation and how to cope with them.
Shoot with your "weak" hand, from behind cover, and practice point-shooting (without sights)
Shoot in a covered, outdoor pistol range.
Train at, and perhaps join, one of the largest sportsmen's clubs in Michigan

The class fee includes an opportunity to improve your defensive shooting skills at Tri-County Sportsmen's League by participating in an International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) match. Here you will learn to draw from a concealed holster, make use of cover, and reload under tactical conditions. IDPA matches are held monthly at the club.

ABOUT TRI-COUNTY SPORTSMEN'S LEAGUE CCW CLASS

Monthly NRA classes that meet the training requirements for a Michigan Concealed Pistol License are offered at Tri-County Sportsmen's League near Saline, MI. Price is $100 for Tri- County members and $135 for non-members. Class hours are 6pm to 9pm Friday and 8am to 5pm Saturday. You must supply your own handgun, ammunition, hearing protection, and safety glasses for the shooting portion of the class Saturday morning. You must be able to consistently place shots on an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of paper at a distance of 21 feet.

If you wish to be guaranteed a place in a class send a $25 check, made out to Tri-County Sportsmen's League, along with the completed registration form below, to Lorena Tellas, 3121 Judd Rd, Milan, MI 48160. The deposit is non-refundable once your seat is confirmed. If the class you select is filled, your deposit will be refunded or applied to a later class if you choose.

If you are not sure about a class date, you may complete the registration below, or send a request for the on-line registration form to ccw4pp@yahoo.com, and return it without a deposit. When you decide upon a date, call us as soon as you can to check for openings.

Class size is limited. Seating is confirmed at the time we have both your check and registration in hand. A confirmation of your date will be sent to you as well as details about the class. If you do not receive a confirmation by return mail within ten days of mailing your deposit and registration form, please call Lorena Tellas at (734) 439-1363.
